An established Main Contractor is seeking a Design Manager to support a growing portfolio of recladding and fire remediation projects across London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has strong technical and regulatory experience within the residential sector.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for leading the design process from PCSA stage through to delivery, typically managing around three live projects at any given time.
  • The role involves close coordination with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure design compliance, timely approvals, and effective communication across all stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate design information from pre-construction through to delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act (Gateway 1–3)
  • Liaise with Building Control and manage relevant design submissions and approvals
  • Review and manage consultant appointments, scopes, and deliverables
  • Oversee and coordinate fire risk assessments and façade design information
  • Lead design reviews, resolve technical queries, and support site teams during construction
  • Maintain accurate design documentation and ensure alignment with project programmes

About You

  • Proven experience as a Design Manager within a Main Contractor
  • Strong understanding of fire remediation, recladding, and residential compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Building Regulations submissions and Building Control processes
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines
