An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join a growing and well-established engineering consultancy based in London. Our client is recognised for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of development projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented engineer with strong UK infrastructure design experience to support the delivery of projects from initial feasibility through to construction.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with architects, planners, developers and multidisciplinary design teams, contributing to a wide range of infrastructure schemes involving highways, drainage, utilities and site development. Projects include civils led works for the oil & gas industry and data centres both in the UK and overseas as well as structures led civils projects, which are mainly UK based.

As a Civil Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for the design and coordination of below-ground and above-ground infrastructure works across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing on-site and off-site drainage systems, including SuDS, attenuation and foul water networks
- Delivering highway designs and Section 278 / Section 38 agreements
- Coordinating utility strategies and statutory undertaker requirements
- Preparing earthworks designs and site level assessments
- Producing technical reports, drainage strategies and planning support documentation
- Liaising with local authorities, water companies, clients and external stakeholders
- Supporting project delivery from concept through to construction
- Ensuring designs comply with current UK standards and best practice guidance
About You
- A degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng)
- Approximately 3-8 years' experience within a UK consultancy environment
- Progress towards Chartership (MICE) or a clear ambition to achieve this
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Flow or similar software packages
- Strong technical knowledge of drainage, highways, utilities and earthworks design
- A solid understanding of UK design standards including DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations and CIRIA guidance
- Experience coordinating with local authorities, water companies and statutory bodies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery
