I'm working with a well-established specialist civil engineering contractor delivering complex infrastructure, public realm and urban environment projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging schemes across highways, structures, rail interfaces, landscaping, utilities and city infrastructure works.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you'll play a key role in leading and coordinating competitive tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission. You'll work closely with operational, commercial and design teams to develop accurate, commercially viable and winning bids.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the estimating process on civil engineering and infrastructure tenders
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Producing accurate cost estimates and pricing submissions
- Managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries
- Identifying value engineering opportunities and risk factors
- Supporting bid strategy and tender presentations
- Working collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure smooth project handover
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts
- Experience pricing projects involving highways, public realm, structures, utilities or rail-adjacent works
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders within tight deadlines
If you're an experienced Estimator looking to step into a senior position, or an established Senior Estimator looking for a fresh challenge, I'd be keen to discuss this opportunity further.
