I'm currently working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy that's continuing to strengthen its civil engineering capability in the South East. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer who wants to take ownership of projects, influence delivery, and play a key role in the growth of a high-performing team. The business operates across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, offering exposure to the full project lifecycle - from early feasibility through to detailed design and technical approvals. You'll be working in a collaborative environment alongside planners, environmental specialists and other design professionals.
The Role: You’ll take the lead on drainage and infrastructure design, managing projects from concept through to approval. This includes producing Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and detailed design packages, while also supporting and mentoring junior engineers. You’ll also be client‑facing, liaising with local authorities, water companies and wider project teams, so strong communication skills are key.
- Lead the design and delivery of drainage and infrastructure schemes
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
- Deliver S104/S38/S278 approvals
- Coordinate with clients, authorities and internal teams
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Contribute to programme management and technical quality
About You: Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or similar). Strong UK consultancy experience, particularly in drainage and infrastructure. Confident using AutoCAD and drainage software (e.g. InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage). Experience managing projects and client relationships. Working towards Chartership or already achieved.
