Are you a Project Manager with a strong Building Surveying background who wants more than just another project list?
This is an opportunity to join an established and growing consultancy in Plymouth, where you'll have genuine ownership of projects, direct client exposure and the chance to work across some technically interesting schemes.
From major refurbishments and new-build developments to heritage projects and complex project recoveries, no two projects are likely to look the same.
The OpportunityThe consultancy is continuing to grow its project delivery team and is looking for an ambitious Project Manager to join them.
You'll work closely with experienced Directors and Senior Surveyors, taking responsibility for a varied portfolio across: Residential developmentsCommercial propertyHealthcareHeritage and conservationPublic sector programmesYou'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early feasibility and due diligence through to procurement, construction and completion.
There's also the opportunity to get involved with challenging or distressed projects, helping clients navigate issues and get schemes back on track.
What You'll Be Doing as a Project Manager: You'll take ownership of your projects and act as a key point of contact for clients, consultants and contractors.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing projects from feasibility through to completionTaking responsibility for programme, budget, quality and riskBuilding strong relationships with clients and stakeholdersManaging consultants, contractors and wider project teamsProviding technical input across design, procurement and constructionCarrying out technical due diligence, surveys and assessmentsPreparing reports, project documentation and funding submissionsSupporting the recovery of complex or underperforming projectsRepresenting the consultancy at industry and networking eventsWhat They're Looking ForYou'll ideally have a background in Project Management, Building Surveying or a combination of both, with the confidence to take ownership of projects and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
You'll bring:3+ years' experience in Project Management and/or Building SurveyingConsultancy experienceExperience across public and/or private sector projectsGood pre- and post-contract knowledgeStrong organisational and project management skillsAPC completed or close to completionA proactive, personable and collaborative approachWillingness to travel to project sites when requiredThe PackageUp to Β£60,000 salary25 days' annual leave + bank holidaysHybrid workingPrivate healthcarePension schemeCycle-to-work schemeMacBook and full IT setupRegular team socials and eventsGenuine opportunities for progression and professional developmentWhy Consider It?
