Are you a structural engineer with several years of experience who would enjoy the challenge of complex temporary works design? Would you like to work in a fast-paced, contractor-led environment and are you good at thinking outside of the box?

This reputable design consultancy is the design arm of a large main contractor. They are an Employee Owned Trust, so their people really count, enabling you to get the EOT bonus benefits. They also pay your travel to and from the office!

The work includes lots of non-typical solution-driven temporary works design in specialist areas, such as major building façade retentions and various complicated London building schemes. You will also be involved in design for hoardings, barriers, formwork, scaffolding hoists, fabrication design, connection design, Cat 3 checks, heavy temporary works, and all sorts of exciting challenges. Projects are usually large building schemes on complex sites.

The role will include dealing with contractors and visits to sites. It would suit a forward-thinking, flexible, and business-savvy candidate who is a good communicator and possesses a 'think outside of the box' mindset. The capability to absorb new information, adaptability, and problem-solving capabilities are key. Projects are always different, and often one-off solutions are needed.

A 2.1 degree from a good University is preferred. This role is aimed at a candidate with several years of design experience, either in permanent work or temporary works, who is keen to learn and progress their career. If you can use Ideastatica, RFEM, and/or Tedds, that would be advantageous.

Staff are handsomely rewarded here with a good salary, bonus scheme, healthcare, flexible work pattern, excellent training for Chartership, 25 days holiday, and travel to and from the office paid for.

Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality. We encourage and welcome applications from all sections of society and are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments and/or additional arrangements as required to support your application. Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
