THE ROLE
Working directly alongside senior colleagues and directors, you\’ll manage your own projects with a high level of independence and responsibility. You\’ll be advising clients across a range of sectors on a wide range of building surveying matters, including technical due diligence, defect analysis, contract administration, dilapidations, refurbishment projects, and planned maintenance strategies.
This position offers the perfect balance of autonomy, client interaction, and technical challenge – along with the opportunity to mentor junior surveyors and contribute to the strategic growth of the team.
Key Responsibilities of the Chartered Building Surveyor:
- Manage and deliver a broad range of building surveying instructions from inception to completion
- Undertake condition surveys, building pathology investigations, and defect diagnostics
- Lead on contract administration for refurbishment, fit out, and repair projects
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, schedules of condition, and dilapidation assessments
- Provide expert advice on building regulations, compliance, and construction best practice
- Conduct pre-acquisition and due diligence surveys for investors and occupiers
- Mentor and guide assistant and graduate surveyors, fostering technical excellence within the team
- Collaborate with clients to provide strategic advice and deliver outstanding service
Requirements:
- MRICS qualification (Chartered Building Surveyor status essential)
- Minimum 2 years\’ post-qualification experience in a similar consultancy environment
- Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, construction, and contract administration
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, professional, and client-focused approach
- Confidence in managing client relationships and contributing to business development
- A passion for continuous learning and professional growth
