We are looking for candidates with around four to eight years’ experience in transport development planning, either in consultancy or within a local authority, who are looking to take on increased responsibility and broaden their exposure to multi‑disciplinary projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Applying highway design standards such as MfS, DMRB, LTN 1/20, and guidance from Active Travel England and Healthy Streets.
  • Coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams on residential, commercial, retail, and leisure development projects.
  • Supporting client engagement and building professional relationships with Highway Authorities.
  • Assisting in project planning, monitoring budgets, and contributing to fee proposals.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior staff, sharing knowledge and best practice.

  • Membership (or progress towards membership) with TPS, CIHT or CILT is desirable.

This position provides the chance to work on a varied and stimulating portfolio of development projects while playing an integral role in building a new office from the ground up. The consultancy supports staff development with formal training programmes, a bespoke mentoring scheme, and funding for two professional memberships.
