An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a well-established, multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK.

Working as part of a highly experienced Building Services team, you'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects spanning commercial workplaces, education, healthcare, leisure, and other sectors. This role offers exposure to projects from concept through to completion, providing the opportunity to develop your technical expertise across the full spectrum of RIBA stages on both new-build and refurbishment schemes.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical building services projects, working closely with internal and external project stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce reports, specifications, calculations, and detailed electrical designs as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Develop compliant electrical building services solutions using CAD and BIM software, including Revit where applicable.
  • Undertake electrical design calculations and ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Carry out site surveys, inspections, defect assessments, and witness testing as required.
  • Review construction design information and provide technical feedback.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, surveyors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings and contribute to technical discussions throughout the design and construction process.
  • Ensure designs comply with current legislation, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
  • Advise clients on energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction strategies within building design.

About You

Requirements

  • Degree, HNC, or HND qualified in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering electrical building services designs from concept through to completion.
  • Strong understanding of RIBA work stages and industry guidance, including BSRIA BG6.
  • Proficiency in electrical design calculations using Amtech, Trimble ProDesign, or equivalent software.
  • Experience producing technical reports, specifications, calculations, and drawings.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Revit experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
