This specialist civil/structural consultancy is an award-winning firm that focuses on assessing, maintaining and extending the serviceable life of a wide range of damaged and deteriorating concrete structures. They are an Irish firm established over 20 years, with a growing London/M25 presence and workload. The London team currently has one Associate and one engineer and is seeking another mid-level person to join their team. The role would suit someone with at least 2 years' experience, which could be with a contractor or consultant. You would be working alongside the Associate under supervision initially.

The work is specialist and involves:

  • Forensic engineering and failure analysis
  • Structural assessment, inspections and load testing
  • Cathodic protection and structural health monitoring
  • Expert witness work, materials testing and report writing
  • Collecting material samples, surveying, and site work such as working on high platforms, tunnels and small spaces
  • Writing structural reports and offering solutions and recommendations

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience in civil or structural engineering
  • Good communicator, able to work both office and on site
  • Good understanding of civil and structural works
  • Ability to use a drill
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is useful
  • Driver licence essential
