Are you an experienced Civil Engineering professional ready to step into a strategic leadership role? We're currently working with a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy looking to appoint an Associate or Associate Director to help lead and grow their Civil Engineering team across London and Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically strong engineer looking to take ownership of major projects, develop client relationships, and play a key role in the continued growth of a highly respected business.
The Opportunity
As an Associate / Associate Director, you'll lead the delivery of complex infrastructure schemes across residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments. You'll combine technical leadership with business development, client management, and team mentoring, helping shape both projects and the future direction of the team.
You'll work closely with senior leadership and have genuine scope to influence strategy, drive growth, and progress your career further within the organisation.

The Role
- Lead the design and delivery of highways, drainage, utilities, and earthworks packages across a range of developments
- Oversee projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support
- Provide technical leadership across Flood Risk Assessments, SuDS strategies, and drainage designs
- Manage, mentor, and develop engineers and technicians across the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and agreements including S278, S38, S104, and S106
- Review and approve technical reports, drawings, and calculations
- Support business development activities, client growth, and project bidding opportunities
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvement within the Civil Engineering team
