A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major long-term infrastructure programme in Kent. This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take a senior role within a technically complex project environment, working closely with the Project and Commercial Management teams.

The Role

  • Leading commercial management across allocated packages
  • Managing applications, valuations and payment processes
  • Preparing and managing CVRs and monthly financial reports
  • Managing cost-to-complete and forecasting
  • Leading change control and variation management
  • Identifying and managing commercial risk
  • Managing the full subcontract lifecycle
  • Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
  • Providing commercial advice to the Project Manager and wider delivery team
  • Supporting contract administration
  • Managing commercial issues, disputes and negotiations
  • Mentoring and developing junior commercial staff
  • Supporting project-level commercial strategy
  • Ensuring compliance with company commercial procedures

About You

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally have:

  • Strong experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects
  • Significant main contractor or specialist contractor experience
  • Strong subcontract management experience
  • Excellent knowledge of cost control, forecasting and change management
  • Experience managing commercial packages independently
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts
  • NEC experience would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills
  • A relevant degree or HNC/HND qualification
