A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major long-term infrastructure programme in Kent. This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take a senior role within a technically complex project environment, working closely with the Project and Commercial Management teams.
The Role
- Leading commercial management across allocated packages
- Managing applications, valuations and payment processes
- Preparing and managing CVRs and monthly financial reports
- Managing cost-to-complete and forecasting
- Leading change control and variation management
- Identifying and managing commercial risk
- Managing the full subcontract lifecycle
- Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
- Providing commercial advice to the Project Manager and wider delivery team
- Supporting contract administration
- Managing commercial issues, disputes and negotiations
- Mentoring and developing junior commercial staff
- Supporting project-level commercial strategy
- Ensuring compliance with company commercial procedures
About You
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will ideally have:
- Strong experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or major construction projects
- Significant main contractor or specialist contractor experience
- Strong subcontract management experience
- Excellent knowledge of cost control, forecasting and change management
- Experience managing commercial packages independently
- Strong understanding of construction contracts
- NEC experience would be highly desirable
- Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills
- A relevant degree or HNC/HND qualification
