Aldwark Manor Estate is a privately owned Hotel with Golf nestled in a picturesque village between York and Harrogate. Set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside, this luxury Hotel provides a complete escape for both business and leisure guests and is a popular venue for weddings. In recent years, the hotel has undergone significant investment and renovation, transforming the bedrooms, restaurant, residents’ lounge, sports bar and all public areas to deliver a refined and contemporary guest experience. December marked the completion and opening of the new Salus Spa facilities, further enhancing the estate’s luxury leisure offering. The next phase of development will see the addition of new bedrooms, expanded event spaces and additional treatment rooms, all scheduled to open later this year.

As Maintenance Assistant you will carry out the general day to day maintenance of the estates buildings and grounds including the golf course. You will be problem solvers for all areas of the hotel. This is a 7-day operation which will include some weekends and Bank Holidays and coverage of the department until 7pm. This is all on a rota basis.

Main duties and purpose of the role:

  • Complete and maintain all required compliance and facilities-based paperwork with strong understanding of health and safety as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Carry out a broad range of maintenance tasks in accordance with your skillset and participate in maintenance activities such as installing, maintaining, decorating, light plumbing, tiling, light joinery, small electrical jobs, PAT testing, grouting and silicone work.
  • Action schedules to ensure the fabric of the building is both aesthetically well-maintained, as well as wholly compliant with all areas of legislation, completing necessary checks and records.
  • Ensure that all tasks, requests, and project work is carried out to high finishing standards and in a timely manner, meeting agreed timescales on project work.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance as well as reactive maintenance of the building and its grounds.
  • Take care of guest complaints regarding building maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work in collaboration with other maintenance team who will assist you with a variety of maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergencies that occur outside of regular working hours.
  • Training other departments and signing off competency on things such as Fire Training and Golf buggy training.
  • Maintaining and setting up for events of Boat House, Bus we use for PR events and horse box we use for drinks receptions and the VW Minibus. Checking everything is working and tests/servicing are up to date.
