Are you an experienced PA/EA with strong operational skills and hands-on Xero/bookkeeping experience? This is a varied, high-trust role supporting two principals across a family office, several privately owned businesses and personal interests. It would suit a commercially minded PA/EA who enjoys being involved in everything from Xero and financial administration to operations, travel, business support and getting things organised. This is not an accountant role.
Our client is looking for someone with a strong PA/EA or business support background who is confident handling day-to-day bookkeeping and finance administration as part of a much broader role. The principalsβ interests include a long-established family estate, property, a growing PR advisory business and a charitable trust. You will work closely with external accountants and advisers rather than being expected to provide technical accounting advice.
The role is hybrid, with at least one day a week in London and a monthly visit to the estate office. The role will include:
- Day-to-day bookkeeping and reconciliations across several entities using Xero
- Invoices, payments, expenses, VAT information and payroll administration
- Liaising with accountants and advisers and preparing accurate financial information
- Managing utilities, subscriptions, licences and property-related administration
- Travel arrangements and occasional diary/scheduling support
- Maintaining organised electronic records, contracts and business documentation
- Supporting Companies House, HR and general corporate administration
- Coordinating day-to-day operational and administrative matters across the businesses and family office
- Improving systems and processes, including using AI and technology to work more efficiently
- Picking up the varied ad hoc tasks that come with a small, entrepreneurial family office
The skills you need to bring:
- Previous experience as a PA, EA or senior business support professional, ideally within a professional, corporate, financial or entrepreneurial environment
- Strong, practical Xero/bookkeeping experience
- Good Excel and general IT skills
- Excellent numeracy and exceptional attention to detail
- Commercial common sense and confidence dealing with multiple businesses and priorities
- A proactive, flexible approach β someone who enjoys a broad role and is happy to turn their hand to whatever needs doing
