Do you have qualified accountancy experience within financial services? Do you hold a professional accounting qualification and have excellent knowledge of accounting regulations, principles and procedures within the investment space? Are you familiar with preparing tax returns and Personal Self-Assessments for a range of clients? Do you have a forward thinking, proactive approach and are you comfortable liaising with and advising clients?
Our client is a boutique wealth manager in the heart of the City, looking for a reliable and experienced accounting professional to oversee the Finance and Accounting advisory service for their client base.
What you’ll be doing day to day:
- Preparing tax and VAT returns
- Ad hoc administrative jobs, including registration for HMRC services like PAYE, self-assessment, VAT and company registration
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of financial records
- Performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Assisting in completing Year-end financial accounts for most business types, including sole proprietors and limited companies
- Assisting in preparing tax returns, including Personal Self-Assessment, Partnership, and CT600 returns
- Liaising with HMRC on clients’ behalf and advising clients on any investigations
- Ensuring that all deadlines are met
- Direct client advisory on payroll and VAT matters
The skills you need to bring:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT)
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
