Stores Career Starter Apprenticeship
No qualifications or previous work experience? Then we want to hear from you… Our Stores Career Starter Apprenticeship is a brilliant way to kick-start your career. You’ll learn about:
- Customer profiles and shopping habits
- The principles of running a retail business
- Brand awareness, business reputation and sustainability
- Relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
- Sales techniques and merchandising
- Maintaining stock levels to meet customer demand
- IT systems, technology and applications used in retail
The programme typically takes around 15+ months to complete but may be shorter if you live in Wales or Scotland. Alongside your Store Assistant training, you’ll work towards achieving a Level 2 Retailer qualification (equivalent to 5 GCSE passes) and complete Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths too, if you don’t have GCSE passes in these subjects already – amazing!
Criteria
- Must be aged 16+ years old
- Must have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past 3+ years
- You must not be an overseas national or subject to employment restrictions
- Must have left full-time education
- Must not have completed a similar qualification at the same level or above
