The Waste Co-Ordination team's overarching ambition is to drive climate action by reducing waste and optimising circularity opportunities according to the ambitions within the FFG strategy and as required due to compliance requirements. As a Centre of Excellence, the Waste Co-Ordination team creates and leads the internal implementation of overarching waste and circularity strategies, policies and processes for all entities within Sustainability.

Your New Role

  • Support the Waste Co-Ordination manager in driving compliance both in market as well as overarchingly for all ALDI markets for key legislations, such as the EU revised Waste Framework Directive (WFD), the Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Right to Repair Directive (RtR), and the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
  • Responsible for Waste data collection efforts, Waste reduction in own operations and Waste reduction in the supply chain and on consumer level, in line with FFG KPI's, or commercial benefits.
  • Demonstrate great communication skills to embed process and policy across business functions, following communication of the Waste Co-Ordination strategy from your manager.
  • Provide guidance to relevant internal teams, whilst prioritising tasks using strong organisational skills.
  • Work proactively with internal departments, without manager direction, using initiative to bring ideas and opportunities to the table.

About You

  • Understanding of where waste is generated within the grocery manufacturing process, retail operations and in the home Sustainability documentation and reporting administration
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A strong level of resilience and the ability to operate under pressure
  • Intellectually curious and takes initiative
  • Stakeholder co-ordination across multiple disciplines and internationally

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a role with a focus on regulatory compliance management
  • Experience working in a role within a commercial or operational department within retail
  • Highly advantageous to have a knowledge of international waste regulation, including:
    • EU revised Waste Framework Directive (WFD)
    • Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
    • Right to Repair Directive (RtR)
    • Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)
