In our 3PL key account lead role in the National Supply Chain Management department, you will have full ownership of a 3PL relationship. You will ensure that Aldi’s market leading levels of service & availability are adhered to whilst ensuring we have the most competitive cost within the market. As part of this role you will be the key contact for your 3PL & take a front seat in negotiations. This will include negotiating contracts, costs and services, helping to shape our long-term supply chain strategy alongside day to day operations within your area.
Your New Role:
- Ownership of building, managing and controlling key 3PL relationships in line with KPIs, contractual obligations and day to day operations.
- Leading 3PL negotiations to ensure competitive costs are maintained for the Aldi business.
- Investigating and collating new contracts and frameworks for new 3PL providers in line with business needs.
- Management and control of multiple Supply Chain projects and tasks, working with Buying, RDC’s and suppliers to deliver to agreed timeframes.
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement and management of all levels of business.
- Championing 3PL process developments and continual improvements, ensuring availability of product into the RDC’s from suppliers.
- Continuous improvement within role, simplifying processes and operations to maximise efficiencies.
- Delivering successful Christmas and key events.
- Supporting the delivery of the department strategy as required.
- Working with other business functions within Aldi to ensure that your 3PL can deliver Aldi’s requirements effectively.
About You:
- Supply Chain department within retailers or 3PL’s- Managing, improving, and delivering change in 3PLs.
- Demonstrate ability to design and implement solutions effectively.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage external providers.
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Previous background within operational environments including day to day management, cost negotiations and contract management.
- External stakeholder relationship building/management.
- Retail/ Supply Chain/ Logistics experience.
- Confidence and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues of all levels is key.
- Need strong written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Ability to manage a varied workload, conflicting deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organisational skills with the ability to identify and manage priorities.
- Innate curiosity; always striving to improve and simplify processes and ensure consistency wherever possible.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task, be pro-active and work on own initiative, working both in a team and independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to investigate and analyse a challenge and offer a solution.
- Flexible and resilient when workload demands it.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain systems (TMS/WMS/Portals etc.) SAP experience.

- Salary starting £37,545 rising to £43,840.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4pm, with the opportunity of 2 day a week remote working (Moving to 1 day remote working from January 2027).
