This is your chance to get a real taste of retail, as you are exposed to every facet of our business over the 12 months of your placement. You will spend the first few months in store, learning about (and actually doing) everyone’s different roles. It can be very hard work: you could be stacking shelves, operating the till, serving customers—whatever’s required, you’re there with a helpful smile and a good head on your shoulders.
Once you know what goes into every role, you’ll be better equipped to manage and lead the team. Along the way, you’ll complete a number of different projects in a variety of areas across the business, including Logistics, Administration, Property and Trading. You’ll also work alongside an Area Manager, getting a real insight into their role. As a result, you’ll be perfectly placed to hit the ground running on our Area Manager Programme once you’ve graduated. It can be daunting—but it can also be a fantastic opportunity to learn and be inspired by a company that’s so different to all the others.
