You will spend the first few months in store, learning about (and actually doing) everyone’s different roles. It can be very hard work: you could be stacking shelves, operating the till, serving customers—whatever’s required, you’re there with a helpful smile and a good head on your shoulders.
Once you know what goes into every role, you’ll be better equipped to manage and lead the team. Along the way, you’ll complete a number of different projects in a variety of areas across the business, including Logistics, Administration, Property and Trading. You’ll also work alongside an Area Manager, getting a real insight into their role. As a result, you’ll be perfectly placed to hit the ground running on our Area Manager Programme once you’ve graduated. It can be daunting—but it can also be a fantastic opportunity to learn and be inspired by a company that’s so different to all the others.
