Let Us Tell You a Bit About The Opportunity

As a Broker Support Associate, you’ll be an important point of contact for our mortgage brokers and solicitors, supporting them throughout the post-application and post-offer stages of the mortgage journey.

Based in Manchester, you’ll provide clear, accurate and professional support, helping queries to be resolved efficiently and cases to progress without unnecessary delays. You’ll join a collaborative team within our Property division, where delivering an excellent service and creating a smooth experience for our intermediary partners are central to everything we do.

What will your day look like?

No two conversations will be the same. You’ll use your customer service skills and growing knowledge of our processes to provide confident, effective support.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing inbound telephone queries from mortgage brokers and solicitors in a professional and helpful way.
  • Developing a strong understanding of our mortgage processes so you can provide accurate information and help applications progress efficiently.
  • Taking ownership of queries, aiming to resolve them correctly the first time and minimise delays for brokers and customers.
  • Accurately recording interactions and keeping relevant systems and case records up to date.
  • Working closely with Business Development Executives, Property Advisers and wider teams to deliver a seamless service.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce risks and create a better overall customer and broker journey.

What do we expect from you?

You’ll be someone who enjoys helping others, communicates clearly and remains calm when handling challenging or time-sensitive queries. You don’t need to know everything from day one, but you’ll need a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.

We’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in a telephone-based customer service or support role.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships with brokers, solicitors and colleagues.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on delivering accurate, right-first-time outcomes.
  • The ability to handle difficult conversations and objections professionally while maintaining strong relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Experience within banking, mortgages or another regulated financial services environment would be beneficial, although it is not essential.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, alongside the ability to learn new systems.
