Product Control Specialist

Overview

Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity: Aldermore has recently gone live with a full front-to-back implementation of Murex, covering trade booking, valuation, risk, accounting, collateral, settlements, and reporting. As we embed the platform into our day-to-day Treasury operations, we are looking to strengthen our first-line controls with a dedicated Product Control Specialist. The product control specialist will ensure that Murex remains our golden source of accurate treasury information. You will own and develop the controls that ensure trades and lifecycle events are processed accurately, with a particular focus on booking integrity and valuations.

Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining front-to-back controls to ensure accurate trade booking, lifecycle events, and valuations.
• Working proactively with users, Front Office, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Risk, and the Murex Support team when issues arise.
• Identifying control gaps and enhancing processes to prevent recurring problems.
• Understanding cause and effect across the workflow and advising users on best practice usage to achieve desired outcomes.
• Establishing and owning daily P&L reporting, using it to highlight breaks early so they can be fixed before they affect downstream processes.
• Partnering with users to develop procedures and use cases to get the most out of the system.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for a problem solver. Someone who brings strong analytical thinking, understands how treasury product trade events will impact risk metrics and P&L, and can communicate effectively with both technical support teams and business users.

Desirable experience

• Prior experience working in a Product Control, Treasury Finance, or Treasury Middle Office environment.
• Prior experience of the Murex Treasury Management System.
• Detailed understanding of the treasury product trade lifecycle, valuation methodology, P&L attribution, and appropriate key controls.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration skills and a problem-solving mindset.
• Good knowledge and prior experience of typical treasury products including derivatives, HQLA investments, repos and reverse repos, nostro management and hedge accounting.
