The Supplier Specialist will report to the Procurement Excellence Manager and form part of the Procurement and Vendor Management team. This role plays a key part in enabling the organisation to procure goods and services safely and effectively, with a strong emphasis on third-party risk management and supplier assurance oversight. You will support the delivery of regulatory obligations while driving continuous improvement across Procurement and Vendor Management, contributing to the implementation of the Group's Third-Party Risk Management Framework, strengthening supplier resilience oversight, and enhancing end-to-end procurement lifecycle practices through the effective use of systems, data, insights and reporting.
What will your day look like?
- Support with embedding the Third-party Risk Management Framework and associated business controls
- Support with gathering Supplier Resilience oversight and assurance over our third-parties, especially those who support Important Business Services
- Support with the creation, development and testing of Supplier exit plans
- Support the OpRes team to meet the PRA & FCA requirements on Operational Resilience, specifically in relation to third-party suppliers eg. scenario testing and dependency mapping
- Provide our Procurement and Vendor Managers with detailed Supplier risk and resilience information
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working in a role where Supplier relationships/arrangements are present (experience in TPRM or Operational Resilience also preferred but not essential)
- Experience in banking or financial services is desirable but not essential
- Broad understanding of the regulatory environment and PRA, FCA and EBA requirements in relation to Third-Party Risk Management desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop internal and external business relationships
- Ability to support, build and manage relationships across a wide stakeholder community
- Understanding of the complete supplier lifecycle from Onboarding, through in-life Governance and Change, to Termination
- Be a self-starter who is proactive and self-motivated; someone who takes responsibility and pride in their work
- Creative thinker with proven track record of delivering supplier-focused initiatives
