This is an exciting opportunity to influence the Bank’s risk landscape, providing expert oversight of Treasury and Finance risks. With a focus on Capital, Market, and Liquidity Risk, you’ll partner with senior stakeholders to support sound decision‑making and protect the Bank’s financial strength.

As a key member of the Risk team, you’ll provide independent second‑line oversight across Finance and Treasury activities, helping to ensure robust risk management, regulatory compliance, and effective governance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting end‑to‑end oversight of Finance and Treasury risks across the Bank.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of Treasury and Finance policies, including Capital, Liquidity, and Market Risk frameworks and risk appetite.
  • Providing independent review and challenge of key regulatory frameworks, including the ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery Plan.
  • Overseeing Treasury risk management activities, including capital, liquidity, and market risk reporting, forecasting, and monitoring.
  • Reviewing and challenging Capital and Funding Plans, including intra‑year updates and stress testing assumptions.
  • Ensuring effective oversight of Finance and Treasury regulatory reporting, supporting accurate interpretation and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitoring operational and conduct risks within Treasury activities, including transaction settlement, reconciliations, regulatory obligations, and bank account management.
  • Coordinating deep‑dive risk assurance reviews to assess the effectiveness of key Finance and Treasury controls and processes.

What do we expect from you?

  • Strong understanding of Capital, Market, and Liquidity Risk, supported by knowledge of financial markets, banking products, and risk‑management frameworks.
  • At least 5 years' experience within a Retail Bank Treasury function, gained in either a first‑line or second‑line role.
  • Relevant degree and/or professional qualification in Finance, Risk, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide effective challenge and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of governance, controls, policies, processes, and change management within a regulated environment.
  • A proactive, highly organised self‑starter with strong prioritisation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
