Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity

As part of our Credit team, you’ll help protect the bank from bad debt through responsible lending in line with Aldermore’s Lending Policy and Group Risk Framework. You’ll lead a team of underwriters, supporting the Head of Credit by overseeing proposals between £25k and £3m, ensuring consistent, high-quality decisions.

You\'ll also engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders, always demonstrating a positive, solutions-focused approach.

What will your day look like?

We\'re looking for a Senior Credit Manager to join our Asset Finance team, focusing on flow & specialist car proposals (£25k–£3m). You’ll play a key role in credit decisioning, shaping credit policy, and leading a small team to ensure high-quality underwriting and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess and approve new business proposals within your authority
  • Help shape and refine credit strategy, policy, and automation
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through 1-2-1s and performance reviews
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and our broker panel
  • Collaborate with Asset Management to assess asset and transaction risk
  • Support ad hoc projects and continuous process improvement

What do we expect from you?

  • Extensive Asset Finance experience, particularly in B2B lending and complex credit environments
  • Proven credit underwriting expertise with a personal delegated mandate
  • Strong analytical skills with experience presenting high-value proposals to Credit Committee
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage high volumes, and meet tight SLAs
  • Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and delivering solutions
