We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow our Asset Based Lending (ABL) offering, working with businesses across the UK who need flexible working capital solutions. This is an exciting role right at the heart of driving growth in the SME market. You won’t just be managing accounts — you’ll be originating and shaping complex, high‑value ABL transactions (£0.5m–£50m), building long‑term introducer partnerships, and representing Aldermore in a competitive marketplace. With real autonomy in a field‑based role and exposure to senior stakeholders, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a visible impact in a specialist lending environment.
What will your day look like?
- Originating new ABL opportunities and delivering new business volumes in line with our growth plans.
- Building and maintaining high‑quality relationships with introducers including corporate finance advisers, accountants, brokers and other professionals.
- Managing the full sales process end-to-end, from initial enquiry through to onboarding.
- Preparing clear, accurate credit submissions to support efficient underwriting and approvals.
- Staying close to the ABL market — understanding competitor offerings, pricing, trends and risks.
- Working collaboratively with teams across Risk, Operations and Relationship Management to ensure great customer and introducer experiences.
- Upholding conduct standards, TCF requirements and FCA expectations relevant to the role.
What do we expect from you?
- A proven track record in originating ABL transactions within the £0.5m–£50m range.
- An established network of introducers across corporate finance, accounting and broker communities.
- Strong understanding of ABL structures (receivables, inventory, plant & machinery, property).
- Confident financial analysis skills, able to interpret accounts and forecasts.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Organisational skills to manage a busy pipeline and deliver at pace.
What can you expect from us?
- A friendly and flexible culture, the same as how we work with our customers.
- A growing organisation that means there’s lots of opportunities to progress.
- A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one.
- And of course, you will be rewarded competitively, with a good range of core benefits and bonus potential.
We’re committed to an environment that values respect, diversity and compassion. We welcome people from all backgrounds, identities and experiences. Please note: we have a thorough referencing process, which includes criminal record checks.
