We have an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Estimator/Programmer to join us at Alderman Tooling Ltd, a leading metalwork manufacturer in Plymouth. Reporting to the Senior Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for programming and quoting new products by reviewing technical drawings and providing expert advice to existing and prospective customers. The role ensures adherence to company quoting systems and rates, advises on optimal manufacturing methods, and delivers commercially competitive solutions for Aldermans.
As Manufacturing Estimator/Programmer at Alderman, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing accurate, competitive quotes by reviewing technical drawings and manufacturing methods
- Advising on cost optimisation, batch sizes, tooling, value engineering, and standardisation
- Preparing clear, production-ready packs aligned to the quoted process
- Programming for laser cutting, punching, and bending to support work orders
- Supporting new product introductions and managing technical changes from production
- Working with procurement to maintain up-to-date material pricing and reliable supply options
At Alderman, we're looking for a Manufacturing Estimator/Programmer with:
- Previous experience within the metalwork or manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing requirements
