Job summary
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen to join our Response team here at Alder Hey Children\’s Hospital
The Response team consists of Senior Clinical Site Practitioners and Clinical Site Practitioners and are integral to the provision of safe high quality care to all patients and families
Our site practitioners have an active involvement in all areas of the Trust working closely with nursing, medical and managerial staff, acting as role models, utilising their extensive experience to deal with all clinical and non clinical issues

Main duties of the job
As a member of the senior nursing team, you will actively contribute & assist the Head of Nursing (HON) with the delivery of the strategic direction of the Trust through the effective operational management. Provide professional & clinical nurse leadership, advice & development & contributing to Trust-wide projects
The post holder is responsible for the management of nursing, quality and standards of care, safety, patient involvement and experience, safeguarding and infection control of designated clinical areas and services in and out of hours 24/7
To provide advanced clinical care through health assessment, initiation of treatment, formulation & alteration of treatment and monitoring of care pathways to children and young people within an agreed scope of practice and alongside the medical teams
Demonstrate effective, visible, authoritative leadership across the Trust in & out of hours (24/7) act in the role of responsible person for patient & staff experience & standards out of hours. Working with the Divisional Matrons, Heads of Nursing and Associate Chief Nurses
Be involved in the management of complaints & act on the findings of investigations to prevent recurrence as required
Contribute to the Trust-wide Nursing, Quality, Education & Research strategy on behalf of the SCSP team
Act in accordance with The Code of Professional Standards of Practice & Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives (NMC 2015)
