Are you an enthusiastic English teacher with a passion for developing reading skills across the whole school? Join Alder Community High School as our Teacher of English and Academic Intervention Co-ordinator (Reading).
You’ll be required to:
- Teach English across KS3 and KS4, delivering inspiring lessons
- Co-ordinate whole school reading age testing
- Research and quality assure the intervention programmes that will be most appropriate to the needs of our students
- Work with the staff delivering reading intervention to ensure the intervention is effective and balances impact, time and value for money
- Complete regular data analysis to ensure the intervention is targeted at the appropriate students.
- Liaise with subject lead for English to ensure continuity of support in lessons following the intervention
- Present to staff parents' governors regarding reading progress
- Deliver CPD to colleagues around how to support reading in lessons following on from the intervention
- Regularly the whole school strategy for reading intervention
