Our Education Welfare Officer will play a key role in supporting student attendance, engagement and overall well-being. The position focuses on working closely with students, families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve attendance rates.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families and staff.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and specialists to support vulnerable children.
  • Implement safeguarding procedures and promote child welfare.
  • Use Class Charts, Provision Maps and other tools to reduce workload and support students.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Pro-active, can-do attitude.
  • Experience working with children, young people or families (preferred).
  • Relevant safeguarding training or willingness to undertake enhanced DBS checks.

Role Details

  • Permanent appointment subject to a 6-month probationary period.
  • Normal hours are 36 hours per week, term time only plus five additional flexible days for events outside of the normal school day or during holidays.
