Alder Brook is a specialist setting that supports primary pupils with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH). We are a growing school and currently have 94 pupil places over two sites. The Department for Education has introduced a new initiative, providing additional funding to Local Authorities to enhance SEND support in mainstream schools. This initiative, "Experts at Hand", enables professionals from specialist settings, such as Alder Brook, to extend their expertise and support into mainstream schools. Alder Brook is seeking to appoint three Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support this initiative.
The Role
- Working across mainstream settings to support pupils, including those attending Alder Brook on short-term placements.
- Supporting pupils during their placement and throughout some of their transition back into mainstream school.
- Providing advice and practical strategies to mainstream practitioners to support successful reintegration.
- Helping to build capacity by teaching classes within Alder Brook, enabling other practitioners to work in mainstream settings as part of the "Expert at Hand" offer.
About You
- Have experience working with pupils with SEND in either a mainstream or specialist setting, particularly children with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
- Be flexible and confident working across a range of settings and locations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to supporting pupils across Salford primary schools.
- Thrive in a varied and collaborative role.
- Must have access to their own vehicle and business insurance (Mileage can be claimed).
