Pay Band 5CP0 - £43,128 FTE. Part Time, 2 days per week, 15 hours per week (8.30am to 4.30pm). One Year Fixed Term Contract.
Actual salary will be based on hours worked and term time only calculations.
Aldenham School is seeking an experienced, empathetic, and highly qualified School Counsellor to join our Pastoral Team. This role involves supporting the emotional wellbeing of young people in a caring and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 with pupils who require additional support to thrive at school.
- Respect confidentiality of clients whilst recognising key safeguarding obligations.
- Provide therapeutic support, interventions, and referrals as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records following school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified School Counsellor (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Experience working with school-age children and adolescents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Commitment to the values of safeguarding, British values, welfare of children, and prevention of extremism and radicalisation.
