We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary Building Services consultancy based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware engineer to take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting both technical delivery and client advisory services.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across mechanical and electrical building services systems, helping deliver practical and innovative engineering solutions while supporting junior team members and contributing to the wider growth of the business.
The Role
You will work closely with clients, engineers and project teams across a range of sectors, providing technical expertise and overseeing project delivery from concept through to completion. This role offers a broad scope of responsibility, including engineering investigations, technical reviews, building performance analysis, project management and client-facing consultancy work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical investigations, feasibility studies and engineering reviews
- Carry out defect analysis, fault finding and problem-solving activities
- Produce technical reports, specifications and engineering recommendations
- Interpret engineering drawings, layouts and technical documentation
- Support building performance improvement and sustainability initiatives
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary M&E project teams
- Manage client relationships and support project delivery
- Assist with lifecycle planning, asset management and maintenance strategies
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high technical standards
- Support business development and networking activities where required
Requirements
- Strong experience within Building Services Engineering
- Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems
- Previous consultancy experience preferred
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience leading projects and coordinating technical teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
- Ability to produce technical reports and client-facing documentation
- Understanding of current industry standards, regulations and best practice
- Professional membership with a relevant engineering institution would be advantageous
