An established bespoke joinery manufacturer is looking to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its manufacturing facility. The business delivers high-quality joinery, cabinetry and interior packages for high-end residential and commercial projects.
The Role
- Manage the daily running of the joinery workshop, ensuring production targets and delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Lead, mentor and organise a team of bench joiners, machinists and workshop operatives.
- Plan production schedules and allocate labour effectively across multiple live projects.
- Maintain exceptional quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Liaise with the design, contracts and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Coordinate material requirements with purchasing to minimise production delays.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and manufacturing processes.
- Promote and enforce Health & Safety procedures across the workshop.
About You
- Previous experience managing a joinery or woodworking manufacturing workshop.
- Strong background in bespoke joinery, architectural joinery or furniture manufacturing.
- Able to read and interpret manufacturing and technical drawings.
- Experience managing production programmes and workshop teams.
- Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
- Good understanding of workshop machinery, manufacturing processes and quality control.
- Committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and meeting project deadlines.
Package
- £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
