Swilcan has been exclusively retained by Aldeburgh Golf Club, a leading 27-hole private members club in Suffolk, to support with their search for an Assistant Secretary.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Secretary (Operations & Membership) will support the Club Secretary in the effective management of the Club, with particular responsibility for membership administration, competitions, and day-to-day operational delivery. The role combines administrative excellence with strong member engagement and operational support, ensuring a consistently high standard of service is delivered to members and visitors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven working experience in the golf industry
  • Thorough knowledge of events and competition/tournament administration
  • Strong focus on control and process and strong attention to detail
  • Good technical and IT skills
  • Familiar with and comfortable in a busy small office environment, team player
  • Articulate with good interpersonal and written skills
  • Leadership role ensuring an exceptional golf experience for members and guests

ESSENTIAL:

  • Strong admin skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with membership software or club management systems preferably with Intelligent Golf

  • Experience with overseeing the successful delivery of Health & Safety practices
  • Aware of the principles of GDPR compliance
  • Knowledge of Xero accounting software
