  • MAIN PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES OF ROLE

To safely and efficiently deliver groundworks and civil engineering activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality, health and safety, and productivity.

The successful 2-person team will be responsible for carrying out a range of groundworks, drainage, concrete, and plant operations, with the Supervisor overseeing site activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, coordinating labour and materials, and maintaining accurate site documentation.

The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, effective communication with site management and other contractors, and a commitment to completing works in accordance with project specifications, RAMS, and company procedures.

  • KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install precast concrete retaining wall sections.
  • Carry out drainage works and general groundworks.
  • Form basic shuttering and undertake concrete pours.
  • Operate plant safely and efficiently.
  • Work to drawings and specifications while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

The Supervisor will be responsible for

  • Delivering site briefings, inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Completing daily site diaries and required paperwork.
  • Managing permits and ensuring compliance.
  • Supervising operatives and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Ordering and calling off materials as required.
  • Ensuring all works are carried out safely in accordance with RAMS.
  • Maintaining quality standards and ensuring work is completed to programme.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Supervisor

  • SSSTS (minimum requirement)
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in groundworks
  • Experience supervising site operations and managing health & safety
  • Team Requirements (between the two operatives)
  • Valid CSCS Cards

CPCS or NPORS certification for

  • Excavator (Above & Below 10 Tonnes) – Essential
  • Dumper – Preferred
  • Roller – Preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in groundworks
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Applicants must be
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Safety-conscious with a proactive approach.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
