MAIN PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:
To ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the wash plant by carrying out planned maintenance, inspections, fault-finding and repairs on mechanical equipment, minimising plant downtime and maintaining production.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and repair wash plant machinery.
- Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance.
- Work on conveyors, screens, pumps, crushers and feeders.
- Replace bearings, rollers, belts, pulleys, chains and other components.
- Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Carry out welding and fabrication work.
- Fault-find mechanical problems and get machinery back into production quickly.
- Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of plant equipment.
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Work safely around heavy machinery and follow site safety procedures.
- Keep maintenance records and report faults or required repairs.
- Maintain safe working practices whilst undertaking your duties at all times
- To act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices highlighting any issues appropriately
- Work flexibly and be receptive and adaptable to a changing environment within a fast-expanding Company
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by management

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Proven experience as an Washplant Fitter
- Relevant mechanical or heavy plant maintenance qualifications
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
