MAIN PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES OF ROLE

A 360 Excavator Operator is responsible for operating 360-degree excavators safely and efficiently on construction, civil engineering, demolition, and groundworks projects.

The role involves carrying out excavation, trenching, grading, lifting, and site preparation while complying with health and safety regulations.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate a 360 excavator safely and competently on construction sites.
  • Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and earthmoving tasks.
  • Load and unload materials into trucks and other equipment.
  • Carry out routine machine inspections, maintenance checks, and report any faults.
  • Follow site plans, drawings, and supervisor instructions.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and within project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Work effectively with site managers, groundworkers, and other trades.
  • Use attachments such as buckets, breakers, or grabs when required.
  • Maintain safe working practices whilst undertaking your duties at all times
  • To act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices highlighting any issues appropriately
  • Work flexibly and be receptive and adaptable to a changing environment within a fast-expanding Company
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by management

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Valid CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavator Operator certification.
  • Previous experience operating 360 excavators on construction or civil engineering projects.
  • Good understanding of site safety procedures and risk assessments.
  • Full UK driving licence due to work location
