As a Business Development Manager, you will report into the Regional Sales Manager, and be responsible for developing sales of Alcon’s leading product portfolio in addition to marketing campaigns and investment.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and accountability for developing customer partnership relationships to create mutually beneficial outcomes for customers and our brands.
  • Utilise multi‑channel digital assets and face‑to‑face communications to build sustainable relationships.
  • Manage all customers within the defined geographical territory and serve as the primary point of contact for Alcon, aiming for long‑term, sustainable sales.
  • Detail new products and marketing initiatives to the account base in a targeted way.
  • Negotiate pricing within agreed company guidelines with customers outside the control of the National Accounts Team.
  • Effectively manage National Account outlets within the region, ensuring objectives set by National Account Managers are achieved at store level.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a business plan for the allocation of Marketing Development funds to secure the best return.
  • Plan and manage call plans for optimal territory management.
  • Provide market intelligence feedback to sales and marketing management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales; optical care expertise is not required.
  • Qualified Optometrist with a strong professional network, or a sales professional from other industries.
  • Proven record of accomplishment, strong learning agility, high organisation, and excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Proven experience in establishing key relationships and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Holder of a current full driving licence.
  • Adaptable, flexible, able to challenge and sell using insights.
