To lead the Product Marketing function, delivering customer research and go-to-market strategies across the client's product portfolio.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding the market
- Research markets, gain an understanding of sources of industry and market data
- Seek out industry reports, articles and attend relevant events
- Clearly articulate customer problems in our markets (by industry) and how our products solve them
- Speak regularly with customers, conduct win/loss analysis, run surveys, review analytics, and continuously validate this understanding
- Understand the competitive landscape and clearly articulate our USPs and those of competitors
- Track and analyse competitive pricing and feature gaps
- Guide the quarterly Sales & marketing plan through identification of target sectors/industries and market problems/use cases for each territory
- Coordinate Marketing and Sales campaigns, Sales training, and Product Marketing activity to support revenue generation
- Ensure alignment of go-to-market roadmaps to the Product Business Plan
- Set product pricing, based on thorough market analysis, and develop pricing strategy for each product
- Provide product specification and pricing guides to support go-to-market activities
- Arrange and support sufficient training for Sales teams
- Liaise with marketing to ensure effective communication of problem, solution, features and benefits to customers
- Support Product Owners in producing clear positioning statements and demos
- Ensure Sales knowledge bases remain up to date and well curated, including the Use Case Dashboard
- Coach and develop your team, ensuring clear objectives aligned to business objectives and focused development plans to support succession planning
- Act as a support/escalation point in dialogue between Product, Marketing and Sales
Skills/Experience
The job holder will be an exceptional candidate, with a proven track record in a similar role. In particular, they are required to have:
- Experience in customer research, pricing, and product marketing
- Good interpersonal skills and experience of interacting with internal and external customers
- Proven experience working with cross-disciplinary teams
- The ability to understand complex technical concepts and present them simply
- Experience working in a Product function
- Developing, delivering, and supporting business processes
