The role

Overview

This role is designed for someone with hands-on experience in the Lloyd’s market who is ready to apply their practical knowledge in a consulting environment. You will use your real-world operational experience to help clients improve underwriting processes, strengthen controls, and enhance day-to-day efficiency. Working independently on assigned tasks and supported by senior team members, you will contribute operational insight, perform analysis, and support project delivery across a range of client engagements. We value practical experience and mindset over rigid role titles; if you’ve built strong London Market knowledge through hands-on roles, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Apply hands-on London Market experience to support client delivery, explaining underwriting, premium, and policy lifecycle processes in a practical, real-world context.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and support process improvements across underwriting, premium, and delegated authority workflows.
  • Bridge the gap between business and technical teams by translating real operational processes into clear requirements, validations, and delivery support.
  • Support system implementations and testing by validating workflows, executing test scenarios, and ensuring solutions reflect real market practices.
  • Contribute to client engagements through workshops, analysis, and deliverables, providing operational insight while developing consulting skills.
  • Support project delivery and coordination activities, including tracking actions, contributing to documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Train and guide teams on specialty market processes and best practices.

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience in the London Market (e.g. underwriting support, operations, delegated authority, claims, or premium processing).
  • Strong understanding of the Lloyd’s and specialty insurance lifecycle.
  • Ability to read and interpret slips (MRCs).
  • Practical experience of underwriting or premium workflows and how work is executed day-to-day.
  • Ability to translate operational experience into clear explanations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Practical understanding of market procedures, controls, and operational processes.
  • Exposure to transformation or change projects beneficial (direct experience not required—we’ll provide training).
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Eager to move into consultancy or project-based work.
