Established 4 Star Belfast city centre hotel is seeking to recruit an experienced Head Chef to take responsibility for all operational procedures within the hotel's busy restaurant and function suites.
Ideal candidate will have a number of years previous experience in the capacity of Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a similar 4 or 5 star property.
Main Responsibilities:- To plan menus in order to achieve and maintain the budgeted food cost.
- To purchase or requisition supplies and ensure that these are properly issued, used and accounted for.
- To carry out food rotation procedures.
- To supervise kitchen staff in the cooking of dishes, giving technical advice and guidance when necessary.
- To ensure that dishes are produced to the required standard of quality before serving.
- To instruct Trainees in food preparation and kitchen operations.
- To assist in the recruitment, training and development of all food production.
- To liaise with suppliers to ensure the supply and delivery of quality goods.
- To carry out stock takes as appropriate.
- To ensure compliance with Statutory and Company regulations with regard to health, safety, hygiene and fire.
- To maintain discipline of staff under your control.
- To promote and maintain good communication with all departments.
- To attend meetings when required.
- To apply the health and safety policy within your departments and ensure that day to day standards are maintained and observed by all staff under your control.
- To carry out any other duties that might reasonably be required.
The successful candidate will work an average of 40 - 45 hrs per week (5 out of 7 Days). An excellent remuneration package, company pension and excellent working conditions on offer for successful candidates.
