Alchemy Global Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading B2B supplier of natural food ingredients to find a dedicated Shipping Manager. This permanent role is based at the company’s Head Office, just a 5-minute walk from Liverpool Street, and requires office presence from Monday to Friday.
Role and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with customs agents and hauliers to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery to warehouses and customers.
- Manage the company’s containerized shipments from global origins.
- Ensure competitive pricing and services from shipping lines, customs agents, hauliers, and warehouses.
- Process shipping invoices and monitor logistics costs.
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen to optimize shipping operations.
- Handle and verify shipping documents, communicating with suppliers and customers worldwide.
- Arrange FOB and FCA shipment bookings with shipping lines.
- Maintain strong command of Microsoft Excel for logistics and shipping documentation.
- Uphold attention to detail in all logistics and shipping processes.
- Work effectively under pressure, managing tight deadlines and last-minute challenges.
Requirements
- Commercially savvy with negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with shipping partners.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Significant experience in global logistics or import-export roles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to work under pressure.
- Preferably degree educated.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
