Alchemy is delighted to be partnering with a well-established London gallery to recruit a Registrar. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with experience in fine art logistics, shipping, or registration, who thrives in a detail-driven and client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipping of artworks, both domestically and internationally.
- Manage all associated administrative processes, ensuring the correct licences, permits, and documentation are in place.
- Oversee customs and export/import paperwork, liaising with agents and shippers as required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to shipping, logistics, and storage of artworks.
- Maintain and update the gallery’s inventory database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all works.
- Provide administrative support across invoicing, insurance, and AML compliance.
- Assist with additional administrative and operational tasks as required.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a gallery, auction house, or fine art shipping/logistics company.
- Strong knowledge of fine art shipping procedures, documentation, codes, and regulatory processes.
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of client service.
- Exceptionally organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident working with inventory management systems and databases.
- Art handling experience is advantageous but not essential.
