Are you ready to enhance your career in the customs and logistics industry? Based in Tilbury, Essex, we are looking for a certified Customs Clearance Specialist to oversee the efficient processing of imports and exports while ensuring compliance with national and international trade rules.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Overseeing and handling import and export customs declarations.
- Completing customs entries from start to finish for deep sea ocean freight or European road freight shipments.
- Making sure that international laws and UK customs legislation are followed.
- Communicating with customs officials to address problems or provide clarification on customs enquiries.
- Keeping abreast with current trade tariffs, rules, and charges.
- Accurately and promptly preparing and filing customs paperwork.
- Keeping an eye on shipments to make sure they fulfil deadlines and customs regulations.
- Keeping track of all customs paperwork and submitting reports.
- Maintaining open lines of communication with internal teams, clients, and vendors to guarantee efficient logistics procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working within Freight Forwarding.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience completing customs entries with deep sea freight or European road freight.
- Knowledge of customs systems and software, such as CHIEF, CNS, Destin8 and CDS.
- Outstanding organising abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of FTA.
