Alchemy are working with a leading Fine Art Shipping company who are looking to expand their team with the exciting role of a Crating Manager to be based in Melbourne, Australia.
Please note this client will provide relocation support to Melbourne and visa sponsorship.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Crate production and packing process. These crates will be used to facilitate the safe transportation of paintings, artefacts and other objects for museums and institutions around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the team and production workshop.
- Oversee internal and external client relationships, using strong communication and customer service skills.
- Managing costs and expenses and completing estimations.
- Handling museum objects and standard crate construction.
- Handling artwork, interior fitout and artwork packing.
- Artwork and object installation.
Skills and qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in art crating and leading a team in a management role.
- Experience in museum standard crate construction, interior fitout & packing of artworks and objects.
- Managing costs and price estimates.
- Experience in crate construction and packing items with attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to collaborate successfully.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Physically fit and capable to complete all aspects of the role.
- Must have a clear police record for visa purposes.
