Alchemy is excited to be working with an established London gallery to recruit a Gallery Assistant to support the Directors across research, operations, and day-to-day gallery activity. This is a varied, hands-on role within a small team, ideal for someone highly organised with strong research skills and an interest in the art market.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a first point of contact for incoming enquiries via email, phone, website, and social media
- Provide research support to the Directors, including artwork and provenance research, and assist with external enquiries
- Support object management, including basic cataloguing, labelling, and maintaining accurate records using Artlogic
- Liaise with restorers, mounters, and technical specialists, coordinating quotes, collections, and deliveries
- Assist with gallery exhibitions and art fairs, including installations and post-fair debriefs
- Support press, PR, and digital activity, including Instagram, Mailchimp, and image requests
- Assist with website updates and general IT troubleshooting in liaison with external providers
- Provide general administrative and operational support across the gallery
- Experience in artwork cataloguing and provenance research
- Excellent communications and writing skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a professional, service-oriented approach
- Comfortable working across multiple functions in a small team environment
