You’ll work across our entire client portfolio, building websites, mobile apps, web applications, and innovative digital products for some of the most recognised organisations. This is a leadership role: you’ll take ownership of projects, mentor junior developers, and help drive technical excellence in everything we deliver. • Currently operating at a senior level, or ready to make the leap.
  • Proven ability to architect robust, scalable digital solutions.
  • Experience with headless React builds and frameworks such as Next.js (essential for modern, API-driven projects).
  • Strong CMS experience, including WordPress, and ability to develop eCommerce platforms using Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce.
  • Advanced PHP skills, including building custom WordPress themes from scratch; experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) preferred.
  • Proficiency in modern web standards: HTML5, SASS, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting (e.g., WPEngine, AWS) and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of build tools (Grunt) and version control (Git).
  • Comfortable managing DNS updates and running deployments.
  • Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively, including direct client interaction.
  • Experience scoping and quoting development work, with confidence discussing costs.
  • Appreciation for design and UX/UI principles; ability to contribute to polished user experiences.
  • QA and browser testing expertise, with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Experience with API integrations and modern workflows.
  • Familiarity with performance optimisation and accessibility best practices.
  • Exposure to tools such as Framer & Webflow is a plus, helping bridge the gap between design and development, enabling faster iteration on front-end experiences, and supporting more advanced use cases such as API integrations and custom code components.

How to prepare for a job interview at Alchemy Digital

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Alchemy Digital uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
