Alchem Partners are currently representing a privately owned HR Consultancy based in Bury. Due to growth, we are assisting in recruiting a HR Advisor to work Monday – Friday days. You will be assisting in a variety of activities from ER cases to recruitment, onboarding and policy support. This role is the perfect opportunity for someone to be exposed to a breadth of strategic and day-to-day HR activities.

Purpose of Job:

  • Responsible for providing a combination of strategic and operational HR and employment law advice and guidance.
  • Providing a coaching role to business owners/managers with their HR issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Employment Law and HR advice to clients to enable compliance in all areas of employment policy and legislation including disciplinary, grievance, restructure, redundancy, performance and sickness absence management.
  • Producing step-by-step advice and guidance along with all necessary letters and/or documentation.
  • Develop employee relations plans, policies and practices for clients, ensuring they are legally compliant and support the achievement of client goals.
  • Manage employee relations cases, advising on resolution, undertaking or supporting investigations as appropriate and facilitating formal proceedings.
  • Support clients in making operational efficiency improvements, developing commercial and legally sound business case and strategy.
  • Coach clients in understanding and complying with ER policies and practices, ensuring employment disputes are avoided or minimised.
  • Foster constructive relationships with clients, partners and associates including Unions, Acas and referral partners.

Key Personal Requirements:

  • Member of the CIPD. Level 5 as a minimum.
  • Ability to lead and influence others in the organisation and clients.
  • Specialised knowledge in a full generalist HR role.
  • Strong up-to-date employment law knowledge.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
  • Experience of developing people strategy in a forward-thinking organisation.
  • Passionate about excellent customer service.
  • Proactive in identifying and meeting client’s needs.
  • Understanding of the needs of small and medium business owners/managers.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • The ability to communicate, work effectively and build relationships with internal teams, clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to make timely and informed decisions and understanding of when to escalate issues.
  • Takes initiative and practices good judgment.
  • Adapts quickly to changing circumstances and develops creative solutions while building consensus among different functional groups.

In return, our client is offering a salary of c£35,000 - £40,000pa, 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays plus Christmas week off, flexible approach to hours Monday – Friday (Typically 09:00 – 17:00). There is also ZERO out of hours working beyond your working week. There is also a huge opportunity for further learning and development and support with further accreditations.
