This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered General Nurse to join Alcedo Care's Rapid Response Team providing complex care at home. Please note: this is a regional role, meaning frequent travel will be required between clients across the North of England.

The role will involve (but is not limited to):

  • Maintain an active registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council relevant to the position.
  • Report to Head of Nursing.
  • Support the business with Fast Track Package Cover as and when required.
  • Assess and review clients and report to the Mobilisation Team regarding updates required for care plans and tasks.
  • Devise, implement and evaluate care plans, risk assessments and associated care documentation while maintaining a person-centred approach.
  • Provide clinical leadership, support, supervision and direction to carers, healthcare workers and staffing on the complex care POC to carry out enhanced clinical duties.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to staff in the field whilst on shift.
  • Deliver outstanding quality of care to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and family members.
  • Proactively manage and communicate to ensure safe, responsive and effective care is provided to reduce risks.
  • Act in accordance with NMC standards to maintain client safety.
  • Operate within all Alcedo Care, local and national policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Support the safe mobilisation of POC out with the community.
  • Provide practical and theoretical training in clinical areas for support staff to provide outstanding care for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, family, other professionals and interested parties to enhance the quality of care delivered and offer support as needed.
  • Ensure that clients receive the right clinical support and advice.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience of community-based work is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience and competence with spinal injuries, brain injury, tracheostomy care, non-invasive ventilation, long-term ventilation, cerebral palsy, neurological conditions, cough assist, epilepsy & rescue meds, PEG and other complex care competencies.
  • Prepared to travel within the local regions between clients and branches.
